IPOB-PW has reaolved to wade into Anambra State election, months after promising to get hugely involved in the political future of Biafrans.
The promise may have begun to take shape with this latest press release.
“We are determined to wade in and change the bleak political future of Ndigbo. We will change it by influencing political decisions and election outcomes and directly getting involved in all elections.Anambra State election is the first in line for us, and we have been carefully assessing what is happening. We have been speaking with our allies and making new friends within the Igbo political spectrum. We have been assessing the security situation, the economic health and what pro-Biafra groups can do to be involved.Among the things under consideration are fielding a pro-Biafra candidate, supporting a candidate or supporting Soludo’s reelection. We understand it must be done through consultations and mobilisation of our people. We will hold meetings with different Biafra groups to reach a consensus on the way forward in Anambra State, and we would allow for all the groups that have the interest of Alaigbo to present the candidate they believe can benefit Ndigbo and end our sufferings in the union.It’shigh time Ndigbo understood that politics is the key to whatsoever we want; be it independence or regional autonomy, we must get down and work harder to put pro-Biafra figures and members into various government offices.We have had years of fruitless agitations with the aim to use violence and achieve something, but the move has failed woefully, and now is the time for a new beginning in politics.
